IRCSET Physical Sciences Communications Award Ceremony |
|||
The Irish Research Council for Science Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) operates a number of pre- and postdoctoral research schemes and currently funds in excess of 800 PhD students and postdoctoral fellows in Ireland. It is a major partner and sponsor of EGAS37 and a number of IRCSET funded PhD students will present their work in the body of the main EGAS37 conference.
To encourage physical and mathematical sciences scholars to make their work more accessible to the general public and also to scientists outside their specialism, IRCSET has initiated the ‘Physical Sciences Communications Award’. The competition was held in Dublin Castle recently and the award itself will be made on the EGAS37 arrival day, Tuesday August 2nd. We would very much welcome and encourage EGAS delegates, arriving on time, to attend the IRCSET poster session and Awards Ceremony which will take place in room QG13 of the Business School prior to the EGAS37 Welcome Party. EGAS37 speaker, Prof. Margaret Murnane, who launched the IRCSET Embark PhD Research Student Programme three years ago, will make the formal presentation to the overall winner. The running order is given below.
